Day 2 of the six-day Ghana Agricultural Study & Leadership Tour saw Voazok Limited continue hosting delegates from Agri-Institute Indiana for a deeper engagement across agricultural education, applied research, and commercial farming operations.
The day commenced at the University of Ghana – School of Agriculture, where academic leadership engaged the delegation in forward-looking discussions on innovation, productivity, and agricultural transformation. The session emphasized the School’s role in developing future agricultural leaders and generating research-driven solutions that strengthen Ghana’s food systems.
A key highlight was the guided tour of the MTN Vegetable Hub of Excellence, led by Professor Eric Kwesi Nartey, Dean of the School of Agriculture. Delegates observed practical vegetable research models, improved cultivation systems, and technology-driven approaches aimed at enhancing yields and sustainability. The engagement demonstrated how academic research is directly influencing field-level agricultural performance.

The delegation then proceeded to the CSIR–Food Research Institute, where they were formally welcomed by the Institute’s Director, Professor Tortoise. He personally engaged the participants in strategic discussions on food safety, value addition, agro-processing innovation, and research commercialization. His presentation underscored the Institute’s critical contribution to strengthening Ghana’s industrial capacity and export standards.
In the afternoon, the focus shifted from institutional research to practical agribusiness at Maphlix Trust Ghana Ltd. Delegates experienced commercial farming in action, including a modern rice seed warehouse facility that supports structured storage and distribution systems. The visit provided insight into scalable farm management and operational efficiency within Ghana’s growing agricultural sector.
The day concluded with a hosted farm dinner, offering an atmosphere of reflection, networking, and partnership-building as the six-day immersion continues.

Through curated engagements and strategic coordination, Voazok remains committed to delivering a comprehensive agricultural experience that connects global institutions with Ghana’s dynamic agricultural ecosystem.
