ITINERARY

Arrival in Beijing, the capital city of the Peoples Republic of China and political, economic, cultural, scientific center of China.
Upon arrival, we will be met by our professional English speaking guide who will holding a pick up sign at the airport. We will be transferred to downtown Beijing. Short rest in our hotel. 19:30 or 20:00: Have International style welcome dinner near the hotel Overnight at 3 star hotel in Beijing

This morning is the highlight of our tour: the Great Wall of China. Construction of the Wall commenced in the Spring & Autumn period (7th century BC) and the Warring States period (475-221BC). It was initially a series of earthworks with the different walls being erected by individual kingdoms as a defence system against each other as well as against invasions from the northern nomadic tribes. The Great Wall in Beijing was firstly built 1500 years ago, and was rebuilt during the Ming dynasty about 600 years ago. The Great Wall of China spans 15 provinces and was classified as a World Culture Heritage Site in 1987. The Beijing portions of the Wall are the best preserved and the most popular parts.

This afternoon we will enjoy traditional Acrobatic Show in Beijing. Acrobatic show is one of Chinese intangible cultural heritage. We will be amazed by their stunning performance. If time permits we can stroll around a big agricultural product market to know more about Beijing people’s life and daily food.

Before dinner we will have a meeting (about 18:30—19:30pm) with Agricultural specialist to talk about Chinese Agriculture and general information of Chinese grain production and international trade. We could understand better the whole Chinese agricultural arable areas and what is the relationship between government, farmers and market. How government helps farmers to be well-being. Getting to know better about Chinese importing quotas for grain, meat and dairy products and the future policies and development in China. In recent years, China is the biggest investor and trading partner with Ghana and has expanded the import of food and agricultural production from Ghana. With these information, we could understand all the situations better during the rest agricultural visits in China. 19:30pm: Have typical Peking Roast Duck dinner together Overnight at 3 star hotel in Beijing.



08:00am: Depart from our hotel 08:30-12:00pm: Our introduction will take us to the Imperial City via a stroll through Tiananmen Square, a site that’s bordered by the Great Hall of the People and national museum. From there we will walk to the neighbouring Forbidden City, a historic complex of the imperial palace, which was home to the 24 Emperors during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. (about 600 years ago). It is regarded as the biggest and best preserved Ancient Wooden Imperial Palace in the world and was classified as World Cultural Heritage Site in 1987.

Grand halls and courts gradually give way to more intimate domestic quarters, giving an insight into the pampered isolation of the Emperors.

12:20pm-13:30pm: Have Beijing local style lunch together. 15:00-17:00pm: This afternoon we will have an opportunity to visit a big soya & potato & chips product processing company in Beijing , which was established in 2000 and is a leading agricultural company of China. It has employed more than 600 staff members and processes over 80 different kinds of products such as soybean sheet, bean-curd, vegetable & fruit chips, potato chips etc. It processes more than 160,000 tons of potatoes, 40,000 tons of vegetables and fruits, 4,000 tons of soya annually. Its products export to over 30 countries. Here we could have a meeting with high-ranking authorities and visit their factory to know more about their development, marketing strategy and agricultural patents and technologies.

19:30pm: Have Chinese style dinner together. Overnight at 3 star hotel in Beijing.



This morning we drive for about 1 hour to visit a typical grain and vegetable farm in the suburb of Beijing. Here we could know more about farmers’ life, visit their museum, see the wheat or corn farm with about 400 hectares, organic vegetable greenhouses with 150 hectares, fruit trees with 20 hectares and their innovative machines etc. The president of this cooperative is regarded as “Worker Model” of Beijing. Here we could talk with the head official about their management and how they lead local farmers to become rich together.

Have international style buffet lunch together. This afternoon we will have an opportunity to visit China Agriculture University (http://www.cau.edu.cn/) and have a meeting with authoritative professor. We could know more about “Sustainable development of Chinese Agriculture under impact of Climate Change” by his lecture. We also have an opportunity to meet some student representatives studying in China Agriculture University and have an easy talk and communication. Tonight we will have Chinese style dinner in the campus restaurant with professor and students to experience their campus life. (It is better to prepare some small gifts for exchanging when saying goodbye.)

Check out and have early and quick breakfast in the hotel 06:45: Depart the hotel 07:00: Check in the Beijing South Railway station 08:00-12:32:We take 4.5 hours bullet train to Shanghai, a city with 23 million people. It is amazing that Shanghai has narrow streets and traditional buildings forming a clear contrast with its modern day skyscrapers across the River. It is bordered by the East China Sea and is at the estuary of the Yangtze River. Shanghai is one of China’s ancient cultural cities and has been an important trading and commercial centre for centuries.

After Chinese style lunch or Fast food lunch we go to visit the biggest Grain and Oil port in Shanghai. It is a newly built modern grain and oil port logistics enterprise to store grain and oil. With the functions of transit, distribution, trade, and information service as one, with grain and oil storage, transit and the provision of third party logistics as the core business. Covering an area of about 1060 mu, which can take the main route of the Chinese ocean.

The long line golden waterway is organically combined with the highway transportation network of Shanghai and its surrounding provinces and cities to realize the efficient docking of grain and oil logistics. We could talk with officials in the office and have a meeting to know more about this port and have a short visit in the port to know more about its function and trading with foreign countries. We walk along the Bund, where we shall have a short walk along the riverside. The river is the main shipping artery for the whole southern China and the main form of transport for goods to and from the interior of the country and is Chinese largest foreign trade port. Today we drive for about 1.5 hours to visit a rural county, and to see some wheat fields. (Generally speaking near Shanghai area, June is wheat harvest time and December is Rice harvest time.) We could talk with the growers about their planting technology, marketing strategy and daily life. Here we could know more about farming condition in Southern China and the difference between Northern China. Later afternoon we drive back to Shanghai.

In the afternoon we go to Xintiandi area (French Concession) for easy sightseeing. This was French Concession Area and has lots of western style buildings. This area reflected history and culture of Shanghai and it mixed with Chinese and Western culture. We will also see the old site of the first National Congress of Communist Party of China(CPC). on July 23rd of 1921, the Communist Party of China was founded here and it has been leading Chinese people to liberate and to bewell-being. There are lots of modern shops and bars in this area nowadays. After dinner we enjoy cruise on Huangpu River. Overnight 3 star hotel in Shanghai.



This morning we visit a small silk museum to know more about how silk made into finished clothes and scarves, and we could see some processing ways and buy special silk products happily. Then we visit the Yu Garden. It was built during the Ming Dynasty in the 16th century by a government officer named Pan Yunduan, who wanted to create a beautiful and peaceful retreat for his parents in their old age. The garden is renowned for its traditional Chinese architecture, featuring winding paths, grand rockery, pavilions, bridges, ponds and waterfalls.

It was designed to create a harmonious balance between nature and man-made elements. It is the must-visit destination in Shanghai where we could experience Chinese history and culture and escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. We also go to the Shanghai Old Town, whose history can be dated back over 400 years. Visitors love this area due to the variety of commodities and shops available. Today’s lunch is on own.

This afternoon we leave some free time for you at leisure or visit a local high quality supermarket to know more about agricultural product & import product market. Enjoy easy sightseeing around Shanghai Pudong New Developement Zone. Farewell international style buffet dinner. Then you will be transferred to airport to check-in your return flight back home.

  • The minimum number of participants for this tour is 10.
  • Deposit upon booking: US$500 (GhC6,500) plus $200 (GHC2,600 – registration and insurance) to secure a place upon registration.
  • Remaining Balance: Due 8 weeks to the tour start date (invoice will be sent to participants)
  • Flight is extra costs for students, which can be arranged through Voazok Tours. Estimation – US$1,250-US$1,700 (GHC16,250 – GHC22,100).
